Japan’s crude steel production increases in April

According to data released by the data released by the Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF), Japan's crude steel output totaled 9.2 million tons in April, up by 1% year on year but falling by 3% from a month ago.

In April, the country's output of pig iron totaled 6.8 million tons, falling by 5.2% from a month ago but rising by 1.7% year on year.

In the first four months of this year, Japan's crude steel output amounted to 35.8 million tons, up by 0.5% year on year.

In the given period of time, the country's pig iron production totaled 27.4 million tons, up by 2.6% year on year.
